2009 focus: Frank Phillips College

Frank Phillips College in Borger, TX will be a new look team this season under head coach Chad Kline. The Plainsmen have added a lot of transfers for the 2008-2009 season. JucoJunction had a chance to touch base with coach Kline today on his squad.
Rashaun McLemore: (SO) 6-foot-4 (200) from Richmond, VA. McLemore played last season at Ball State University. Rashaun played at Mount Zion Christian Academy in Durham, NC prior to Ball State.

"Rashaun has a big time body and can really get to the rim," said Kline.
McLemore played AAU ball with the Richmond Squires program.
Broderick Gilchrist: (SO) 6-foot-1 (175) is a transfer from Middle Tennessee State. Gilchrist, a point guard, will play at Jerry Mullen's JUCO 120 Camp in Tulsa, OK on July 6-7 at Oral Roberts University.
Mike Boyd: (SO) 6-foot-3 (180) is a transfer from Colby Community College in Kansas last season. Boyd, a wing player, led the Jayhawk Conference in scoring last season as a freshman. Boyd, a Baton Rouge, LA native, followed new Frank Phillips College assistant coach Vu Phan to Borger for this coming fall. Boyd averaged 18.8 ppg,4.1 rebounds and 4 assists last season.
Kierre Miller: (SO) 6-foot-3 (180) from Romeoville, IL. Miller played his freshman season at Laramie Community College in 2006-2007 where he averaged 11 ppg. Miller attended classes this past season at Chipola College.
Alvin Thomas: (SO) 6-foot-0 (170) from Memphis, TN. Thomas, a combo guard, played last season at Walters State Community College in Tennessee. AJ led Walters State to the national tourney in Hutchinson, KS. Thomas was a NJCAA third team All-American this past season. Thomas will join McLemore and Gilchrist at Jerry Mullen's JUCO Camp in Tulsa ,OK this July. AJ averaged 18.4 ppg and 3.6 assists last season while shooting 39.8% (94-236) from three point range.
Leneal Harris: (SO) 6-foot-3 (205) from Milwaukee, WI is the only returner from last season's team. Harris averaged 14.1 ppg, 4.2 rebounds and 4.1 assists for the Plainsmen last season. Harris signed with UW-Milwaukee out of high school but ended up in junior college. Leneal was an honorable mention WJCAC selection this season as a freshman.
