2009 in focus: E-O Boll Weevils

The Boll Weevils of Enterprise-Ozark Community College in Enterprise, AL haven't had much success until last season. Second year head coach David James has turned the Boll Weevils around and finished last season at (19-13). This season the Boll Weevils look to keep making strides in the right direction. JucoJunction saw E-O this past weekend in Tallahassee, FL at the Southeastern Jamboree.
Michael Abbott, (SO) 6-foot-7 (210) from Dothan, AL, plays in the post at the power forward position. Abbott really enjoys drawing contact in the paint and has a good understanding of the game. mike averaged around 11 ppg last season for the Boll Weevils. Morehead State and Arkansas State have made contact with Michael this fall according to coach James.

Rodney Kennedy, (SO) 6-foot-0 (180) from Dothan, AL, was a high school teammate of Abbott at Northview High School. Rodney got eligible after first semester last year for the Boll Weevils and finished with (15-3) with Kennedy in the lineup. Kennedy started off his career at Faulkner State (AL). Rodney is a undersized two guard who can really shoot the ball and pop off screens for shots.
Derein Chatman, (SO) 6-foot-5 (220) from Moreno Valley, CA, transferred in from Surry Community College in North Carolina. Chatman played at Milestone Prep in Raleigh, NC for a year before heading off to junior college. Chatman, a small forward, averaged 14.3 ppg and 5 rebounds last season at Surry Community College. Derein uses his body well to draw contact and get to the foul line and make plays.
The Boll Weevils look to improve on their season last year and look to make a move on the winning the Alabama Region State Tourney this season. JucoJunction will follow Enterprise-Ozark Community College during the season.
