Abraham Baldwin has plenty to offer

ABAC is off to a great start in Region 17. JucoJunction had chance to talk to coach Todd Sheppard about his sophomores.
Leon Buchanan: (SO) 6-foot-4 from Albany, GA. Buchanan is a small forward with a wingspan of 6'11.

"The academic qualifier out of high school is a high percentage player that has great toughness and has the ability to play at a high level," Sheppard said.
JucoJunction had an opportunity to see ABAC and Buchanan play in the fall at the Tallahassee CC Jamboree. Buchanan can defend bigger players and he can finish at the basket slashing to the cup.
Southeastern Louisiana, Evansville, Jacksonville State and South Carolina State have shown interest in Leon. Leon is at 15.3 points and 4.9 rebounds this season while shooting 62.5% from the floor (87-139)
John Michael Hall: (SO) 6-foot-5 from Moutrie, GA.
Hall is coming off an injury plagued freshman season in which he averaged 7.4 points per game with a high ankle sprain. Hall had a 1090 SAT out of high school and is academic
qualifier.
"John Micheal is a wing player with the ability to score in bunches," said Sheppard.
Hall is a great system player that is a very deceptive athlete. South Carolina State, North Georgia College and State University (D2), Francis Marion (SC) and Armstrong Atlantic State have shown interest.
Hall is scoring 12.4 ppg this year.
Lancie Cannon: (SO) 6-foot-4 from Fort Gaines, GA.
Cannon is a transfer from Santa Fe CC (FL).
"Cannon is great rebounder and just a winner," Sheppard said. "His high school team won over 100 games."
Cannon is shooting 67% from the floor and 80% from the foul line this season. Lancie is at 11.5 points and even brings in 5.9 boards a game.
Brandon Shingles: (SO) 6-foot-1 from Albany, GA.
"Brandon is a pure point guard that is extremely tough with nine points, six rebounds and seven assists per game this season," Sheppard noted.
Shingles has already had three triple doubles his season. Shingles will need D2/NAIA or wit till January 2008 and graduate from ABAC.
"The more you watch him he grows on you," said Sheppard.
Shingles is at 9.2 points, 5.6 rebounds and 6.6 assists The point guard is shooting a sizzling 63.6% from the floor (71-111) on the season.
Jerrenda Wheeler: (SO) 6-foot-3 from Gainesville, GA.
"Jerrenda is very athletic and has the ability to create his own shot. He's a very good on the ball defender and will be a steal for someone," according to Sheppard.
Wheeler will need go the D2/NAIA route for next year. Jerrenda is at 13.2 ppg this season.
