Agard headed to Gamecocks

Latiq Agard waited till the end of the summer to make a decision on where he wanted to attend college this fall. JucoJunction found out today that Agard will be playing for the Gamecocks next season. "I will be playing at Jacksonville State University this coming season," said Agard. Agard, a 6-foot-4 native of Queens, NY, has played the past two seasons in Liberal, KS, at Seward County Community College.

Agard averaged 16.9 points and 5 rebounds per game this past season while shooting 53 percent (210-393) from the floor for the Saints. "I think this a perfect fit for Latiq. I really think he is a perfect for the Gamecocks in the Ohio Valley Conference," said JucoJunction Publisher Bret Swanson.
Agard received interest from Oakland University, University of South Dakota and St. Bonaventure before deciding on the Gamecocks last night. Agard prepped at The Patterson School in Lenoir, NC, and New Creations Prep in Richmond, IN, before heading off to junior college.
Agard was ranked No. 52 this past season in the JucoJunction Top 150. Agard will now join fellow teammates Tony Smith (East Carolina) and Marcus James (Sam Houston State) at the division one level this coming season. The Saints finished the year at 24-9 this past season under head coach Bryan Zollinger.
