Another commitment out of Mott

LaMarr Drake will be able to put his winter coat away for the next two seasons. Drake, a Chicago, IL native, will be taking his game to Texas A&M-Corpus Christi next season according to Mott Community College head coach Steve Schmidt.

Drake, (SO) 6-foot-1 (177), played at Chicago Carver while in high school. The combo guard led the Bears to two straight national championships in the NJCAA Division Two ranks. LaMarr averaged 9.2 ppg, 3.1 assists, 3 rebounds and 1.8 steals this season.

Drake received interest from Northern Iowa-visited and offered, UTEP-visited and offered and Texas A&M Corpus Christi before signing with the Islanders recently. Texas A&M Corpus Christi has really been hitting Chicago hard these past two seasons with head coach Perry Clark and assistant coach Billy Garrett.
