Anthony Inks with UNLV

Joel Anthony put a quick end to his recruitment on Wednesday, signing with UNLV.
Anthony, a 6-9, 240 pound center/power forward from Pensacola J.C. in Florida, spent the past three weekends taking official visits.

When the dust settled, he selected UNLV (Apr. 23-25) over Nebraska (Apr. 30-May 2) and Penn State (May 7-9).
A native of Montreal, Quebec, Anthony also saw interest from Buffalo, Maine and Cincinnati before casting his lot with the Running Rebel program.
"He liked all three places and the coaches, and I told him he couldn't make a bad choice," PJC Head Coach Paul Swanson told JUCO Junction on Wednesday. "He liked the players he met out at UNLV, and there's a chance to play right away. The style of play also suited him."
In his two years at Pensacola, Anthony didn't post gaudy offensive numbers. He's more known for his defensive and rebounding prowess at this juncture.
"He's capable of playing defense, rebounding and blocking shots," Swanson noted. "He gives UNLV an immediate defensive presence and runs the floor well, but he's raw offensively and needs development there."
Anthony will have two years of eligibility at UNLV.
