Arizona Western big man decides

Rafael Crescencio is a big guy anywhere he goes. Crescencio hails from Brazil and has played the past two seasons at Arizona Western College in Yuma, AZ. Matadors head coach Kelly Green touched base with JucoJunction today to let us know that his post player has signed a National Letter of Intent for next season.
Rafael, 6-foot-9 (220), will going to the University of San Diego next season according to coach Green. Hawaii and St. Mary's of California showed interest in the post player this spring.

The Matadors won the Arizona region this past season after beating Cochise 74-50 before advancing to play eventual national champion Salt Lake Community College and lost with the bid to the national tourney on the line. The Matadors finished the year at 26-6.
Rafael averaged 13.6 ppg, 7.5 rebounds and 2.3 blocks this past season for the Matadors. Crescencio made first-team all-region honors this season and joined fellow teammate Andre Almeida on that list. Almeida just a freshman was voted player of the year and freshman of the year in the region this season after averaging 13.7 ppg this past season and 8 rebounds. Almeida hails from Brazil.
JucoJunction will keep its eye on Almeida next season and Alonzo Brandon this season as they prepare to find schools for next fall.
