"Stan Simpson will play at Memphis next season," said a member of the John A Logan College coaching staff. The third year player from Chicago will have two years to play for the Tigers in Conference USA.

Simpson started his college career at the University of Illinois before surfacing at the Carterville, I.L. school in the GRAC Conference. Simpson played in high school with former Memphis Tiger and current Chicago Bulls guard Derrick Rose.
Simpson averaged 12.6 points, 8.3 rebounds and 2 blocked shots per game for the Volunteers. The Volunteers finished the season at 18-10. The Volunteers lost one of their own this past week when assistant coach Kyle Smithpeters moved onto the NCAA ranks to Missouri State University.
