Big 12 bound

"Stephen Hurt has committed to Kansas State University. Stephen really liked the idea of playing in the Big 12 Conference" said Northwest Florida State College Head Coach Steve DeMeo.
Hurt, a transfer from Lipscomb University, visited the Wildcats back in late August. Hurt visited Miami (FL) and Wichita State University also this fall before deciding on the Wildcats late last night.

Hurt averaged 11.5 ppg and 7.8 rebounds last season at Lipscomb University where he was named Atlantic-Sun Conference Freshman of the Year. Hurt is a third year player.
"The allure of playing in the Big 12 and wanting to play against the likes of Kansas, Texas and Baylor really excited Stephen. Stephen bring a unique skill set that most big men don't have. He can really pass the ball, score with his back to the basket with either hand and has extended his range to the three point line now" said DeMeo.
Hurt and his teammates will be playing this weekend in the Southeastern Jamboree on the campus of Tallahassee Community College.
