Blinn forward headed out west

Tyson Johnson will be heading off to Laramie, WY next season to play at the University of Wyoming. Johnson played his sophomore season this past year at Blinn Community College in Brenham, TX.
Johnson, 6-foot-6 (235) from Long Island, NY, played his freshman season at Monmouth University. The rugged power forward averaged 20.9 ppg and 8.3 rebounds this season for the Bucs. Johnson was the second leading scorer in Region 14 behind Marcus Thornton from Kilgore who has signed on with LSU for next year.
Tyson shot 59.5% (135-227) from the floor and 82.2% (83-101) from the foul line. Tyson had received interest from Boise State, Arkansas State and University of Illinois-Chicago before picking Wyoming.
