Blue Storm big man makes pledge

"I have decided to play at Coastal Carolina University next season. I felt very comfortable with the school and coaches and the players we called clicked and got along" said William Kirksey. Kirksey recently visited Central Michigan University but thought twice and decided to finish his college career in Conway, S.C.

Kirksey is a power forward at Southwestern Illinois College in Belleville, I.L. He played his freshman season at Southeastern Illinois College in Harrisburg, I.L. for then head coach Todd Franklin. Kirksey averaged 12.7 points and 6.3 rebounds per game while shooting 51 percent (152-296) from the floor. Kirksey will slide into action for the Chants next season with the graduation of Chad Gray and Michael Holmes after this coming season.
Kirksey will join fellow junior college player Travis "Trap" Wilkins from Missouri State-West Plains College at Coastal Carolina University next fall in the Big South Conference.
