Brown headed to the Zags

Ira Brown will finally get his chance to play big time sports in the state of Washington. It's just not the sport he originally planned on playing.
The former minor league pitcher in the Mariners organization will sign on Wednesday to play basketball at Gonzaga.

"I think he'll be a great fit," said Phoenix College coach Matt Gordon. "He will be a very good player in the West Coast Conference. I coached in the league for a couple of years and I know what it's like."
Brown and Phoenix College won their first game 118-58 over the Grand Canyon JV on Tuesday night. Brown visited the Zags officially last weekend.
