Brown is a Bulldog

The recruiting process is over for one of the most heavily recruited juco players in the land. Southeastern Illinois forward Takais Brown has made his decision.
"Takais actually signed earlier today," said SEI coach Todd Franklin. "He's going to Georgia. He's a Bulldog."

Brown chose UGA over Purdue and UNLV and a late push from Kelvin Sampson at Indiana.
"The teams that were really there at the end, Purdue, UNLV, Indiana tried to get in," Franklin said. "Everybody that was there at the end, all the coaches did a great job and they all conducted themselves really well. I think Takais appreciated that."
But in the end, a chance to play in the SEC was too much to pass up.
"For him, he really felt like that he had a real opportunity to have a real chance to start right away or at least to compete to start," Franklin said. "I think an opportunity to start for a team that he thinks their guards are really good and to have a chance to play and compete against Florida, LSU, guys like Joakin Noah and Big Baby, that was pretty attractive to him."
Brown was rated as the No. 6 prospect in the junior college class by JucoJunction.
"We have to do this every year," Franklin said. "I can tell you, I'm glad that it's over."
So are Bulldog fans.
