John Brown signed out of high school at The Citadel in Charleston, SC. Brown, a Savannah, GA native, played just one season for the Bulldogs before landing at junior college this past fall. guiding the program at Roane State Community College. Brown, (SO) 6-foot-5 (196), is currently averaging 16.9 ppg, 11.2 rebounds, 3.4 steals and 2.4 assists this season while shooting a blistering 57% (168-293) from the floor for the Pioneers.
"I have really enjoyed my time here and I have met a lot of great people," said Brown. "I believe my game has improved by leaps and bounds in my opinion".
Colgate University, Morehead State, Loyola-Chicago, Stephen F. Austin, Sam Houston State, North Florida University, Albany and UW-Milwaukee have been recruiting him according to Brown.
"John is a Dennis Rodman type of player; he's so active on the boards on both ends and brings a great skills package to the table. John is a left-handed mismatch guy who can score inside and out with versatility on the floor," said JucoJunction staff analyst Bret Swanson.
Brown will have a chance to keep his season going starting this Thursday versus Walters State Community College in the Region Tourney being held at Columbia State Community College in Columbia, TN. JucoJunction will keep an eye on Brown and his Pioneers this weekend and see if they can make a run to the NJCAA National tourney later this month in Hutchinson, KS.
