Butterfield making one more trip

Last time we checked on Mineral Area forward Darryl Butterfield he was on his way to an official visit with Wisconsin-Milwaukee.
"It went pretty good," said MAC head coach Corey Tate. "He didn't sign or anything."

But Butterfield should be signing with someone by the end of the week. He has one last trip to make.
"He is going on a visit today to Missouri," Tate said. "They offered him, so he's just going to take a visit and make a decision."
Butterfield previously took a visit to Austin Peay in late April. Tate said he expects the 6-foot-7 forward to come to a decision between those three schools by the weekend.
Butterfield averaged 8.4 points and 4.9 rebounds for a very balanced Mineral Area team last season. MAC went 28-and-5 and lost in the regional tournament to eighth-ranked Southwestern Illinois. Butterfield was one of the top scorers on a team that did not have anyone above 13 points per game.
"His number one strength is he works so hard and that always makes up for a lot of skill work, anything else you don't have," Tate said. "He's a tough kid, he knows how to play the game."
And by Friday, he should know where he'll be playing it next season.
