California big man headed east

Hofstra has been one of the strongest mid-major programs in the nation over the last few years. They hope that Dane Johnson can help keep that tradition alive. The 6-foot-10, 270-pounder from Mount San Jacinto (CA) has committed to Hofstra.
"Dane has recovered nicely from his knee surgery and we are seeing daily improvement in his game and maturity level," said head coach Patrick Springer. "Dane's best basketball will be played at the four year level."
Johnson only averaged 1.8 points and 2.1 rebounds last year for the Eagles. He didn't play his first game until January of last season. Johnson attended Paul Robeson High School in Brooklyn,NY.
