California school off to a hot start

Ohlone College has a lot of sophomores (11 to be exact) this season and is currently 18-and-1 on the season and ranked #1 in California. The team has currently won 16 games in a row. JucoJunction.com had a chance to talk to Head Coach John Peterson to get the rundown on his players today.
Renardo Bass: (SO) 6 foot 2 (195) from Norfolk, VA. Renardo is a strong slasher.

"The lefty is a beast of a slasher and a great playmaker," Peterson said. "He is the best rebounding guard in the north."
Renardo is averaging 7.8 points and 7.6 rebounds this season. Montana, Montana State, Northern Colorado and Hampton are calling on him.
Bert Whittington: (SO) 5 foot 11 (180) Oakland, CA.
"Bert is an extremely quick scoring point guard," said Peterson. "He's a great on the ball defender."
Bert is averaging 11 points and 3.5 assists on the year. Long Beach State, Fullerton, Southern Utah and Northern Colorado are recruiting him.
Jermaine Smith: (SO) 6 foot 9 (220) from Irvington, NJ.
"Jermaine is a very skilled power forward that can step out and shoot it," remarked the coach. "He is one of the best decision makers from the post that I have coached."
Jermaine is at 10.9 points, 6.8 rebounds and 4 blocks a game. Smith has had nine double-doubles this season. Nevada, New Mexico, Nebraska, Fresno State, Manhattan and San Jose State are recruiting the big boy from New Jersey.
Patrick Collier: (SO) 6 foot 3 (190) from Houston, TX.
Patrick redshirted last year and was at Navarro JC (TX) a few years back.
"Patrick is being way under recruited," Peterson said. "He's a big time shooter. Everyone needs a player like him, he has a super quick release."
Collier is at 11 points this season and had 26 points on 7 out of 9 shooting from three point range versus Cabrillo earlier in the year.
Willis Gardner: (SO) 6 foot 0 (180) from Norristown, PA.
Willis played at Luzerne County CC (PA) back in 2004-2005.
"The kid is quick on quick with the ball in his hands and can really change directions and speeds," Peterson commented. "He is a sleeper who can dictate the tempo of the game
on both ends."
Gardner had a separated shoulder back in July and played very little at Mullens JC Camp. Dayton, Wright State, Fresno State, Boise State, Pepperdine and Fullerton have called on the point guard. Gardner is at 9.4 points and 4.6 assists this season.
Allen Hester: (SO) 6 foot 1 (185) from Oakland, CA.
The scoring guard is averaging 10.8 points a game this year.
"Allen is a big time athlete that can really get out in transition," said Peterson. "He is a high flier who is fearless going to the rim."
Northern Arizona, Fullerton, Cal-Santa Barbara, Montana and Eastern Washington are showing interest in Hester.
Sean Amos: (SO) 6 foot 3 (193) from Philadelphia, PA.
Amos played at Luzerne County CC (PA) with Gardner back in 2004-2005 where he averaged 17 points per night.
"Sean is a small forward that can really get to the rim and finish with either hand," Peterson said. "He is hard to guard off the dribble and excels in transition."
Amos must go D2/NAIA route because of his clock. Sean is averaging six points per game this season.
