Cards look to improve

JucoJunction stopped into Parsons, Kan. last week during our travels. JucoJunction had a chance to see a new look and improved Labette Community College Cardinals. Read more about the Cardinals right here in this article on your source for junior college basketball recruiting news.
The Cardinals hired former Cowley College player Jonathan Raney during the offseason to take over the helm in Parsons. The Cardinals can only improve on last season as they finished 2-29 on the year.

The Cardinals will have a new roster this season and are led by NCAA division one transfer Dre Conner. The point guard played his freshman season at Towson University where he averaged 5.5 points and 2.3 assists in 30 games played. Conner played 24 minutes a game in the CAA Conference last season. Conner hails from Lauderhill, Fla.
Vincent Cornu played his freshman season at South Georgia Tech College in Americas, Ga. "Cornu is a rugged power forward that plays with a lot of drive and has a great motor on the floor. Vincent loves to draw contact all over the floor," said JucoJunction Publisher Bret Swanson. Cornu averaged 6.3 points and 4.3 rebounds per game last season at South Georgia Tech College.
Wendell Lee is currently in his third year of college and hails from Gardena, Calif. The wing player played his freshman season at El Camino College after prepping at Mississippi Elite Christian Academy and Sound Doctrine Christian Academy in Lagrange, Ga.
Lee was pretty much held out of practice today when JucoJunction was in attendance with a bad right hand.
The Cardinals have added a promising freshman from the Sunshine State in Vic Adams. Adams a shooting guard from West Palm Beach, Fla. should see plenty of playing time this season in the Jayhawk Conference Eastern Division.
JucoJunction thinks for sure the Cardinals will improve on last seasons record and could knock off some teams down the road.
Stay tuned to JucoJunction all season long for the latest in basketball recruiting news from the Jayhawk Conference.
