Casper big man makes the call

Big guys are usually a lost commodity in the junior college ranks. Recently one big man from the junior college ranks decided he wanted to be a Gamecock next season and decided to end his recruitment early and sign with a four-year school. Abner Kamps will suit up for the Gamecocks of Jacksonville State University next season in the Ohio Valley Conference. Kamps, (SO) 6-foot-10 from Casper College in Casper, WY, averaged 6 ppg and 3 rebounds for the Thunderbirds as a freshman.

Kamps is a Michigan native will be best suited at the four-year level like many big post players.
"Abner's best basketball is in front of him and he brings a good skill package to the table for a big guy," said JucoJunction staff analyst Bret Swanson.
