Checking in at South Suburban College

South Surburban College in South Holland, IL has made great strides over the John Pigatti era at the school located just outside of Chicago. The Bulldogs, an NJCAA Division 2 School, have made it to the NJCAA National Tourney in Danville, IL on a few different occasions with coach Pigatti at the helm. JucoJunction took a closer look at a trio of players on the Bulldogs roster who are making some noise this season in Region 4.
Tremell Adams is a third-year player after redshirting last season for the Bulldogs. Adams, a shooting guard, is currently averaging 22.5 ppg this season and has scored 630 career points while playing in 48 games at the school. Adams, a Chicago Curie product, has had five games this season of over 30 points. Adams will graduate according to coach Pigatti and is receiving interest from UW-Green Bay and Robert Morris (PA). Jack Houpt, (FR) 6-foot-7 combo forward, was an academic qualifier coming out of prep school last season at Bridgton Academy in Maine. Houpt is currently averaging 11.1 ppg and 5.4 rebounds while shooting 47% (35-75) from three-point range.
"Jack can really shoot the ball and has a great feel for the game," said Pigatti.
Houpt is a Chesterton, IN native. Houpt can leave the Bulldogs with three years to play.
Andre Quarles, (SO) 5-foot-10 (150) from Midlothian, IL, is currently running the point guard guard position for the Bulldogs. Quarles started his college career at Wabash Valley College in Mount Carmel, IL a few seasons ago.
"Andre is a scoring point guard who can get into the lane and produce," said JucoJunction staff analyst Bret Swanson.
The Bulldogs will look to get back to Danville this March but it will be no easy task in Region 4 this season. JucoJunction will keep you posted on these players' recruitiment right here on your source for junior college basketball recruiting.
