Chicago State gets local star

Chicago State University Head coach Benjy Taylor is a happy man today. The Cougars are coming off a impressive 19-13 season and have just added a post player from the junior college ranks who should step in and help right away next season. Tim Flowers, (SO) 6-foot-4 (250), is staying in the city to play at Chicago State University next season said Kennedy King College Head coach Garland Dildy. Flowers joins teammate Devin Miller in signing scholarships for next season. Miller signed with Coastal Carolina University in Conway, SC while averaging 13.9 ppg and 4.9 rebounds this season for the Statesmen. Flowers, who started his college career at UW-Milwaukee, averaged 14.6 ppg, 10.6 rebounds while shooting 53.9% (115-213) from the floor this season.
Flowers won a few state championships at Simeon High School with Derrick Rose, now of the Chicago Bulls. JucoJunction will stay in touch with coach Dildy on his sophomores when they decide to sign National Letters of Intent.
