Chipola players starting to take visits

Very few schools will send as many players on to Division One this year as Florida's Chipola College. With three players already signed in the early period, four more Indians should ink this spring.
"Michael Taylor is probably getting hit the hardest, well, him and Stefhan Hannah," said Chipola coach Greg Heiar. "Ryne Hamblet is getting hit by all the mid-major, mid-plus schools. He hasn't made plans for any visits yet."

Taylor, however, has already started the official trips. He is in Ames on an official visit to Iowa State right now and will trip to Minnesota and "probably" Tennessee. No other visits are planned.
"I don't know," Heiar said. "It's kind of up in the air."
The Cyclones could have an edge because Greg McDermott hired a former Chipola assistant recently.
There is a fourth player who hasn't gotten the press, but could turn into a solid prospect. 6-foot-3 guard Jay Anderson is also getting some attention. Anderson averaged 22 points per game in his first semester last year before being ruled ineligible and transferring to Chipola.
"He's a tremendous athlete, he's a scorer and can really defend," Heiar said. "To be honest with you, if he's in another junior college program, he's getting hit by all the mid-majors. Here, behind Taylor, Hamblet and Jamarcus Ellis, it was hard to find a lot of playing time."
No visits are set for any of the Chipola players outside of Taylor, but things should happen fast starting next week.
"After the Final Four, we'll set some things up," Heiar said. "I've been telling people if they really want these kids, they'll send the head coach in during the contact period and we can make decisions on visits from there."
