Cincinnati dips into juco ranks again

Tim Crowell, a 6-foot-2 point guard out of Albuquerque, New Mexico, has signed a Letter of Intent to play for Cincinnati, BearcatLair has learned. Crowell joins an already steady class of Jamual Warren, John Williamson, Marvin Gentry, and Deonta Vaughn.
Crowell also had offers from Purdue and New Mexico, and is considered to be one of the best point guards in the JUCO ranks. Crowell was believed to also be looking at Texas El-Paso, but was only seriously looking at Cincinnati. Crowell is currently ranked as the 48th best JUCO recruit in the country by JucoJunction.com. Crowell is the second point guard signed in this class along with Vaughn.

"Crowell is a pure point guard who has great speed with the ball," stated UC head coach Mick Cronin. "He has tremendous leadership skills, which are very important to me and is something our team needs.
"Timmy and I are on the same page on and off the floor already as far as working hard to achieve success," Cronin added. "He can score but is a guy who wants to make plays for his teammates. What excites me most is his tenacity and competitiveness on defense. Crow is a winner and we are excited he is on board."
TexasHoops.com, the premier source for Texas basketball information, has seen Crowell multiple times and had this to say about his game:
"Tim is a very good ball handler who can create and find the open man. He is a good shooter with 3 point-range, is quick with the ball in the open court, sees up the floor and can break down the defense and create easy buckets."
Crowell while playing in the Western Junior College Athletic Conference earned First Team All-Conference accolades. This past season Crowell averaged 4.2 rebounds and 3.0 steals while leading the school to a 27-6 record and the championship game of the NJCAA Region V Tournament.
