Citrus duo already getting looks

Richard Frohlich and Buchi Awaji are returners this season for Citrus College that have a lot of college programs paying close attention. Head coach Rick Croy gave JucoJunction an update on these two players.
Frolich, (SO) 6-foot-9 (230), is from Germany.

"Richard is a power forward who loves contact. I really believe his best basketball is still in front of him," said Croy.
Richard has added more weight since last season and it shows already. Frolich averaged 4.1 ppg and 3.2 rebounds last season for the Fighting Owls. Pacific, Loyola Marymount, UC Irvine, UC-Santa Barbara and Northern Arizona are keeping tabs on the foreign post player.
"Richard has a really soft touch on his shot and gets great position in the paint," said
JucoJunction staff member Bret Swanson.
Frohlich's sister Linda plays in the WNBA with the Sacramento Monarchs.
Awaji, (SO) 6-foot-3 (175), is a native of Los Angeles. Awaji is a 2/3 man on the floor with 3.2 GPA in the classroom.
"Buchi is a great slasher that is very explosive in transition and can really get to the rim quite easily," said Swanson.
Awaji averaged 12.5 ppg and 5.1 rebounds last season while shooting 32% (45-140)
from three-point range.
"Buchi is a prolific scorer that can really shoot the ball off the bounce," said Croy.
Awaji is receiving early interest from Utah State, Boise State, Colorado State, Wyoming and San Diego. Stay tune to JucoJunction throughout the season on these two solid players.
