Cochise prospects off to good start

The Cochise College Apaches in Douglas, AZ go into the holiday break with a 12-0 record and a #2 ranking in the latest NJCAA Division One Poll. Marcus Williams is the leading scorer on the Apaches so far this season. Williams, a combo guard from Albuquerque, NM, is currently averaging 21.3 ppg and 3.3 rebounds while shooting 47% from the floor. Williams averaged 18.4 ppg as a freshman while gathering First Team All-ACCAC and All Region Honors last season along with Honorable Mention All American interest. Marcus is receiving interest from Northern Colorado-offered, Cal St Fullerton-offered, Cal St Northridge-offered, Portland State-offered and Boise State-offered according to coach Carrillo. Houston, Wichita State and Utah State are also showing interest in the combo guard. Marcus has scored 789 career points at Cochise College heading into the 2nd semester this January.

Jamiko Verner is the general on the floor for the apaches the past two seasons. Verner hails from the Mile High City of Denver,CO. Jamiko is currently averaging 7.4 ppg, 3.2 rebounds and 7.8 assists this season. Verner has dished out 346 career assists for the Apaches. Verner has a 36-8 record while running the show for the Apaches the last 1 1/2 years.
Verner is receiving interest from Texas Southern, Northern Arizona, Portland State, Stephen F. Austin, Jacksonville and Eastern Washington according to coach Carrillo.
Ray Marshall is a 6-foot-7 power forward from El Paso,TX. Marshall is currently averaging 10.3 ppg and 7.9 rebounds this season for the Apaches. Marshall is getting interest from Robert Morris University, UT-Pan American and Utah Valley University according to coach Carrillo.
