Colorado point guard stays in-state

Northeastern (CO) Junior College point guard Omar Leary will not have to go far to play his college ball. Leary has committed to Colorado State.
"I felt like it was the right situation," Leary said in an NJC release. "They have a point guard leaving so I have a chance to contribute right away. They play their game according to the players they have. I prefer an up-and-down style, but believe I can also succeed in a half-court set."

Leary also had interest from Nebraska, Texas-San Antonio, Weber State, Ball State and Northern Colorado. He becomes the second NJC player to commit to CSU, following teammate Xavier Kilby.
Former NJC coach Brian Joyce is on the staff at CSU.
"I like Colorado," Leary said. "So staying in Colorado definitely impacted my decision."
