Cougars finishing strong

Phillip Shumpert has really done a great job at Lawson State Community College in Alabama the past few seasons. The Cougars are currently 22-5 heading into the home stretch of the regular season. Stay tune to JucoJunction right here and see whats going on with three players from this Cougars squad in there recruitment this spring.
Larry McGaughey took a official visit back in the fall to UTEP. The Memphis, T.N. is currently averaging 13.7 points and 4.2 rebounds per game while shooting 48.5 percent (129-266) from the floor this season.

Missouri, Ole Miss, LSU, Nebraska and Providence have all shown interest in McGaughney this spring according to Shumpert. "Larry has had to score as much this season as he and is teammates are really sharing the ball well this season. Larry averaged 18.6 points per game as a freshman," said JucoJunction Publisher Bret Swanson.
Tarvin Gaines is a brute down low in the post for the Cougars. The West Memphis, A.L. product is currently hitting on 14.8 points and 6.7 rebounds per night. Gaines is shooting 55 percent (127-233) from the floor.
Ohio University, Jacksonville State, Bradley, Coastal Carolina University, Troy University and Alabama State have been in contact with the power forward this season according to Shumpert. "Tarvin is a left-handed post player with a nice jump-hook around the basket," said Swanson.
Taaj Ridley found his way to Lawson State Community College after sitting out last season at Barton Community College in Great Bend, K.S.
The third year forward from the Bronx prepped at Kennedy High School. Ridley is having a great season for the Cougars averaging 15.3 points and 8.3 rebounds per game.
Middle Tennessee State, Wagner, Tennessee-Martin, Jacksonville State and Troy University have all shown interest in Ridley this spring.
