Oklahoma State University has struck again the junior college ranks this fall. The Cowboys went to the Lone Star State for a power forward who hails from the Windy City. JucoJunction has the latest on this player in this article right here on your source for junior college basketball recruiting.
"Darrell Williams has signed with Oklahoma State University for next season," said Midland College head coach Ross Hodge. Hodge has the Chaps off to a 7-0 start and they are currently #1 in the latest NJCAA Poll in the country. Hodge was previously the head coach at Paris Junior College.
Williams, a Chicago native and the #13 ranked player in the JucoJunction Top 150, played his freshman season at Chipola College in Marianna, FL. Williams prepped at Farragut Academy out on the West Side of Chicago.
"Darrell has a great skill level and can step out and knock down shots," said JucoJunction staff analyst Bret Swanson.
Williams is currently averaging 9.4 ppg and 9.2 rebs this season for the Chaps.
Williams will join J.P. Olukemi from Vincennes University in the Cowboys recruiting class for 2010-2011. Olukemi is not ranked in the Top 150 this season because he's not playing for the Blazers. Olukemi will enroll at Oklahoma State in January 2010 and have three years to play for the Cowboys.
