CSI Lands Odessa Duo

The College of Southern Idaho has landed a pair of transfers this summer from Odessa College in Texas.
David Sills, a 6-0 point guard from New York City, and Jason McGriff, a 6-8 power forward from Palm Bay, Fla., are two of the newest additions to the Golden Eagle program.

JUCO Junction learned about the commitments this week through CSI Asst. Coach Barret Peery.
Sills, a scoring lead guard, started 15 of 27 games for the Wranglers in 2002-2003, averaging 14.7 points, 2.5 rebounds and two assists per contest.
A sturdily built lefty, Sills is more of scorer than a distributor. He shot 39 percent from the floor and 30 percent beyond the three point arc at Odessa last winter. The Wranglers finished 17-10 overall.
As for McGriff, he battled an early season injury but still managed to appear in 16 games for Odessa. He averaged 8.6 points and 5.4 rebounds per game, shooting 52 percent from the floor and 62 percent from the foul line.
Both Sills and McGriff figure to be integral members of the Golden Eagle program in 2003-2004. Peery said that both players will have a chance to graduate next spring or summer.
We'll keep you posted on both Sills and McGriff as the upcoming JUCO basketball season approaches. Stay tuned!
