CSI Loses Two; Konecny, Artest Leave Eagles Nest

A pair of players have transferred out of the College of Southern Idaho this fall.
Daniel Artest, a 6-4, 255 pound power forward from New York, N.Y., and Mark Konecny, a 6-10 forward/center from Waterbury, Conn., are headed to new junior colleges this fall.

CSI Asst. Coach Barret Peery told JUCO Junction that Artest decided to leave CSI on Tuesday. He may now be headed to Westchester C.C. in Valhalla, N.Y. Peery said, but we have yet to confirm that with the Westcos staff.
As for Konecny, the one time Syracuse recruit left CSI at the end of August and has since enrolled at Yavapai College in Arizona, Peery said.
"Mark left here on a positive note," Peery said. "He needs to be somewhere where he can play more."
Prior to leaving CSI, Artest was being recruited by Lamar, Portland State, Idaho and New Orleans, Peery said.
Artest's primary concern in leaving CSI was playing time, Peery said. The Golden Eagles brought in a pair of talented forwards late this summer with Odessa transfer Jason McGriff and University of South Florida transplant Yusuf Baker.
If we can confirm Artest's transfer to Westchester, we will let you know via another article.
