CSIs Baker Plotting Future Course

One of the top power forwards left on the board this spring, Southern Idaho's Yusuf Baker, is setting up a number of official visits this month.
JUCO Junction spoke with CSI Asst. Coach Barret Peery just before the Final Four, and he told us that Baker could take as many as five official visits this spring.

Peery said that Baker will visit Tulsa from Apr. 9-11, Alabama from Apr. 16-18, Nebraska from Apr. 23-25 and Georgia from April 30-May 2. Others trying to secure the last visit include Oregon and Arizona State.
"Yusuf is going to graduate, but it will be in the summer," Peery said.
Baker averaged 12.7 points, 8.9 rebounds and 1.6 blocks per game for the Golden Eagles in 2003-2004, shooting 59 percent from the floor and 60 percent from the foul line. He's a power player all the way who does most of his damage inside of six feet.
"Activity and athleticism is more his game," Peery said. "He's a shot blocker and rebounder."
While he carried some baggage with him after transferring from the University of South Florida, Baker has managed to stay out of major trouble at CSI.
He'll have two years of eligibility remaining at whatever Division I program he picks.
