Cyclones land top 30 juco prospect

Marshalltown Community College in Marshalltown, IA plays in the same region as Indian Hills Community College, Iowa Western Community College and Southeastern Community College. The Tigers recently had one of there players move on for next season by signing this week with a Division One program. "DeMarcus Phillips will take his game down the road next season to Iowa State University next fall," according to Cyclones assistant coach Jeff Rutter.

Phillips is JucoJunction's 27th-ranked player in the Top 150. Phillips prepped in High School at Milwaukee Washington High School in Milwaukee, WI. DeMarcus played this past summer at the Mullens JUCO 120 Camp in Tulsa, OK on the campus of Oral Roberts University.

Phillips averaged 15.5 ppg, 5 rebounds, 2.4 assists and 1.8 steals last season for the Tigers.

"DeMarcus is a crafty combo guard who can really score it and is very creative passer on the floor," said JucoJunction staff analyst Bret Swanson.
