"Gary Talton has joined the family here at the University of Illinois-Chicago for next season," said UIC Head Coach Howard Moore. Talton is a point guard from Mountain View College in Dallas, T.X.

Talton led the Lions to a 26 win season and a NJCAA D3 National Championship this past March. Talton started his college career at Navarro College in Corsicana, T.X.
Talton averaged 14.7 points, 6.5 assists and 4.5 rebounds per game this season. The Lions defeated Rochester Community College 71-64 in the national championship this season.
Talton was named to the NJCAA 1st All-American list along with being named MVP of the Metro Athletic Conference.
