Detroit lands two, including former Hoosier

University of Detroit Mercy Head Coach Ray McCallum is waiting no time on getting some recruits for next season. The Titans recently landed two junior college players. JucoJunction has the latest in on the Titans signings in this story.
Xavier Keeling, (SO) 6-foot-6 (240) from Wallace State-Hanceville (AL), will be joining forces with his former assistant at Indiana University. Keeling had a change of heart and now will play for the Titans next season. Xavier had committed back in early March to the Creighton Blue Jays of the Missouri Valley Conference.

"Xavier is a very skilled powerful player inside. I really like the way he can pass the ball for a forward," said JucoJunction staff member Bret Swanson.
Wallace State Community College-Hanceville lost their only game of season in the Region Tourney to Shelton State. Shelton State will represent the region at the National Tournament in Hutchinson, KS next week.
Keeling averaged 9.4 ppg, 5.4 rebounds and 4.7 assists this past season. Xavier was pulled out of many games this season early when the Lions would get big leads on opponents. The Lions finished the season at (32-1) under head coach Allen Sharpe.
Thomas Kennedy, (SO) 6-foot-7 (200) from Detroit, MI, will head back home to play for the hometown Titans. Kennedy, a combo forward, played for Mott Community College in Flint, MI the past two seasons and won two national championships under head coach Steve Schmidt. Kennedy, a left-handed combo forward, was a first-team all-conference performer this season for the Bears.
Kennedy averaged 14.5 ppg and 7.7 rebounds this season for the Bears. Thomas doubled his average from his freshman season when he averaged 7 ppg. He scored 769 career points in 70 games played and grabbed 466 rebounds the past two seasons.
