Division One signees leading Monroe

The Monroe College Mustangs advanced this weekend to the District 3 playoffs in Maryland or West Virginia this coming weekend. The Mustangs defeated Westchester Community College and ASA this past weekend to advance. JucoJunction has the latest on the Mustangs in this story.
The Mustangs, now 30-2 and ranked ninth in the country, will now play Allegany Community College or Garrett College (WV) in one semifinal while Vincennes (IN) will play Harcum College (PA) in the other. The Mustangs were led this weekend in scoring by Boise State bound guard Westly Perryman with 31 points in defeating Westchester Community College 101-78 on Saturday. The Mustangs turned around on Sunday and beat ASA Institute 58-43. ASA had beaten TCI on Saturday 69-61 to advance to the championship.

Kyle Wright, a Providence signee, led the charge for the Mustangs with 19 pointts versus ASA. Tyvon Williams, a South Carolina State signee, scored nine points and Westley Perryman added eight. Perryman, a Boise State recruit, now has 969 career points at Monroe College. Darryl Gladden led ASA with 13 points. Gladden is a clock kid who played at Life Center Academy in Burlington, NJ awhile back and then attended Siena for a year. Gladden, (SO) 5-foot-10 (175), is now 24 years old.
JucoJunction will keep an eye on the Mustangs this weekend with the right to go to Hutch on the line.
