Douglas headed North

James Douglas of Detroit, Michigan has signed a National Letter of Intent to play men's basketball at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee next season.
Douglas, who currently is at Schoolcraft Community College in Detroit, is rated as the 43rd-best junior college player in the country by Hoop Scoop Online. The 6-foot-3 guard played last season as a redshirt freshman at Eastern Michigan University, averaging 7.2 ppg in league play while starting 15 contests. Douglas was a Michigan all-state selection as both a junior and senior at Harper Woods High School, averaging nearly 26 ppg as a senior and earning Metro Conference Player of the Year honors.

UWM Head Coach Bruce Pearl had this to say about the combo guard: "James Douglas is a very complete combo guard. He can run a team at the point or score from the wing and he gives us great flexibility. James can get into the lane off the dribble and go by his man to create offense. Plus he has the size to finish. I know this was a special recruit for Associate Head Coach Tony Jones because he's from Detroit and this is Tony's first real venture here into the Detroit area. Detroit is one of the better teams in our league and it is great that we were able to go into Detroit and beat Minnesota and Wyoming for James."
