Eagle men roll to 2 and 0 start

NICEVILLE, Fla. (November 2, 2013) - One day after a convincing 38-point victory in its season opener, NJCAA No. 23/FCSAA No. 3 Tallahassee Community College delivered another relatively easy win on Saturday, knocking off Motlow State (Tenn.) Community College, 81-61, at the Quality Inn Classic, hosted by Northwest Florida State College.
Tallahassee whipped Lurleen B. Wallace (Ala.) Community College, 82-44. Meanwhile, Motlow State, the defending NJCAA Region 7 champion, dropped its season opener to Northwest Florida State on Friday and returns to the Volunteer State with an 0-2 record.

Tallahassee heads home with a 2-0 mark and will begin preparations for its season opener, which takes place Friday, November 8 against Marion (Ala.) Military Institute on day one of the TCC Tip-Off Classic.
On Saturday, the Eagles sprinted to a 41-29 lead at the half and never looked back over the final 20 minutes.
Freshman Dirk Williams paced the Eagles with 26 points and nine rebounds. Cameron Naylor added 16 points and nine rebounds. Richard Peters and Earvin Morris each had ten points and nine rebounds. Marlon Johnson was credited with five blocks.
Tallahassee also got a boost at the charity stripe, where it converted on 14-of-18 overall.
Friday's game against Marion is scheduled for an 8 p.m. tip and will follow the 6 p.m. opener between Santa Fe College and Faulkner State (Ala.) Community College.
