ECC pair close to decisions

Erie Community College put together a solid 20-win season before falling to top-seeded Monroe Community College in the Region 3 tournament. A big reason for that success was a talented sophomore duo.
Darius Corbett and Robert Sharpe had good sophomore seasons, but at this point, they appear to be headed the Division II route to continue their careers.

"Darius definitely can play low Division One, but he didn't get a lot of looks," said Erie head coach Alex Nwora. "Sharpe, he's in the same group. They can both flat out play."
Nwora said Corbett is the closer of the two to signing. The 6-foot-3 guard is likely headed to IUPUI in Pennsylvania.
"Darius averaged a double-double for us this season," said Nwora. "He was out for a while, but then came back toward the end of the season."
Meanwhile, the coach said Division II powerhouse Metro State has been trying to set up a visit for Sharpe.
"Sharpe can run the floor," Nwora said. "He can put it on the floor, shoot the midrange jump shot. He's a very good shooter for his size."
