Edwards Part of Dynamic Duo @ Monroe

Kingsley Edwards is one part of a very successful backcourt tandem at Monroe C.C. in the Bronx, N.Y.
Edwards and teammate Kevin Bell have led the Mustangs to the Region XV crown, and both will have the chance to bring Monroe to a national stage at the NJCAA Tournament later this month in Hutchinson, Kan.

First, the Mustangs must get past the District III Tournament in South Carolina next weekend, which will feature regional champs from Maryland and the Carolinas.
Edwards pumped in 20 points and grabbed seven rebounds on Saturday to help the Mustangs to a 92-85 victory over Westchester C.C. at the Region XV Championship.
Edwards is athletic and does a goob job of leaking out and scoring on the fast break. The 6-0, 175 pound combo/shooting guard is also a proficient shooter from beyond the three point arc. He has knocked down roughly 50 percent (68/138) of his three point attempts this season.
Edwards also ranks second on the Monroe squad in assists (133 total), although he appeared to be a bit more comfortable playing off the ball on Saturday in the win over Westchester.
Monroe Head Coach Jeff Brustad told JUCO Junction that Edwards is being looked at by Florida International, Drexel, St. John's, Eastern Kentucky, Manhattan and Albany. Several D-IIs are also keeping an eye on Edwards, who will need roughly four courses in his final trimester at Monroe to graduate.
A native of the Bronx, N.Y., Edwards spent parts of two years at Butler County C.C. in El Dorado, Kan. He sat out there during the winter of 2001 and played for the Grizzlies during the 2001-2002 season.
JUCO Junction will keep you posted on Edwards as well as other top junior college sophomores as the spring signing period approaches, so stay tuned!
