Escho Racking Up Numbers at Monroe

Lataiva Escho, a ruggedly built 6-5, 220 pound power forward from Monroe J.C. in Rochester, N.Y., has enjoyed a fine sophomore campaign for Jerry Burns' Tribune program.
A native of Syracuse, N.Y., Escho is in his second year at Monroe. As a qualifier out of high school, he signed with Rider, but left the college before the end of his freshman year and never played for the Broncos.

JUCO Junction caught Escho (pronounced ES-CO) in action recently against Sullivan C.C. In that game, he scored 20 points and grabbed double digit rebounds, but it wasn't enough to prevent the Tribunes from dropping a 76-57 decision to the Generals.
Coach Burns told JUCO Junction that Escho has been offered thus far by the University of Hartford. Others in the mix include Maine, Cleveland State, Southern Illinois, Wagner and Albany.
Escho is a bouncy athlete who recovers quite well on his leap. He's a post up power forward who gets most of his damage done inside of six feet.
Escho didn't take any official visits this past fall, and probably won't do so until after the completion of Monroe's season.
Coach Burns said that Escho has a chance to graduate this spring, and JUCO Junction will keep you posted on his situation as the signing period approaches. Stay tuned!
