Evans will wait to sign

Butler County (Kan.) Community College guard Tyree Evans indicated last month he knows where he will be going to college after this season. After committing to play for K-State coach Bob Huggins twice at Cincinnati, the former Rivals150 member has landed in the Jayhawk Conference with the plans of taking the court for Huggins.
"I am not going to sign this week," the 6-foot-3, 185-pound Evans said. "I talked to the coaches last week and now they want me to wait until the spring to sign. I've got no problem with that.

"I know what I am going to do. It won't change anything for me. I'm still planning on playing for Huggins. I decided that a few years ago when I committed to him. That hasn't changed and won't. He is a great coach and knows how to help players get better. He will have his teams winning and playing in the postseason."
Evans has not made a trip to Manhattan for any visits, yet.
"I haven't been to Manhattan," he said. "I've been here in El Dorado. We've been getting ready for basketball season and it is here now. Our first game was Saturday. We lost to Coffeyville. They are ranked pretty high and we lost by four. I don't think I played very well myself. I had an off game and was getting some double-teams. We'll get better."
As a senior in high school, Evans was the No. 121 ranked prospect in the country and was rated the No. 24 shooting guard. The following year at The Winchendon Preparatory School, he was the No. 60 overall prospect and the No. 19 shooting guard.
