Famous still thinking after Missouri trip

Last week, one of the top available junior college prospects in the country began the process of narrowing down his list of schools. The Missouri Tigers got the first spring official visit from Westchester College big man Jarrid Famous when they hosted him during Mizzou's 73-64 win over Oklahoma on Wednesday.
"He liked it," said Westchester assistant coach Mick Carey. "He enjoyed the game, it was a real good game. He really likes the coaching staff. They're all real good guys."

However, Famous did not return from Columbia ready to make a decision.
"I would imagine he'll probably go until late," Carey said. "He understands it's a very big decision for him because he can't change it. Once he signs that paper, that's it."
There are still plenty of options out there for Famous. Carey said he is considering trips to Xavier, Houston, South Florida, St. John's, Villanova and Lousville, but has not scheduled any other visits. He tripped to Seton Hall in the fall.
"He doesn't have anything written down yet," Carey said. "He's still got some schools, he visited some unofficially, so he wants to see if he wants to take that official somewhere close to here or go maybe away like he did to Missouri and take unofficials close to home."
One thing that could factor in the Tigers' favor in this race is the style of play.
"He's a big, but he's very athletic for his size," Carey said of the 6-foot-11, 240-pounder. "He's very athletic. So he needs to go somewhere he can get up and down the floor."
Famous still appears to be quite some time from a decision. JucoJunction.com will continue to follow his recruitment.
