Famous to the Big East

Jarrid Famous had offers from some of college basketball's heavier hitters. But in the end, being close to family won out. Westchester Community College coach Tyrone Mushatt told NYChoops.com that the 6-foot-11 Famous committed to South Florida.
Famous had offers from Missouri and Pittsburgh, both of which reached the Elite Eight this year, as well as Arizona, where he visited last weekend.

"Jarrid came to his final decision and he went with what his mind said he didn't go with his heart," Mushatt said. "Jarrid has family in Florida and he feels comfortable there. He especially likes the coaching staff at South Florida they made him feel at home."
JucoJunction just received confirmation from Westchester assistant Mick Carey that Famous has committed to the Bulls. Stan Heath and South Florida have picked up a big one for the late signing period.
