First and last trip coming for White

This weekend was supposed to mark the first official visit for Lee College forward Mike White. He was scheduled to go to Norman, OK to check out the Sooner program. White will still make a trip, but the destination has changed.
"Mike will be going to Indiana this weekend," said Lee coach Roy Champagne.

Champagne had previously said that the Sooners would be tough to beat for White's services. Now that Indiana hired Kelvin Sampson we asked the coach if the same was true of the Hoosiers.
"I would say that," Champagne replied. "He will visit Indiana and if all goes well, I'm pretty sure that's where he'll end up."
White averaged 19 points, 7.4 rebounds and three blocks a game this season as a sophomore.
"He was the second leading scorer in our conference and co-MVP, second team All-American," Champagne told Inside Indiana. "We call him 'King Kong' --he is just a beast. His freshman year we pretty much rode him block to block and this sophomore year he has really opened up his game. Really faced up and shot that 15 to 16-footer. He ended up going 4-9 from the 3-point line and I think he has the ability to do even more of that."
JucoJunction recently revised its rankings for the Class of 2006. White is rated as the ninth-best junior college prospect in the nation.
