Florida big man will be a Bulldog

The Gonzaga Bulldogs have developed a tradition of strong, athletic post players. Mark Few and the Zags appear to be ready to land another such player. Abdullahi Kuso, a 6-foot-9 power forward/center from Tallahassee Community College, looks like he is headed to Gonzaga to play next season.
"He verbally kind of almost has committed," said TCC coach Eddie Barnes. "I think it's going to happen. By the end of the week, we should know for sure."

Kuso took official visits to Clemson and UMASS in addition to Gonzaga, but is ready to end his recruitment.
"He took all three visits," Barnes said. "I think he just felt like that was a better fit for him at the time."
Kuso, originally from Nigeria, was committed to Rutgers two years ago. However, he was not officially cleared by the NCAA clearinghouse and had to go the juco route. He averaged about 11.6 points, 8.8 rebounds and 1.5 blocks as a freshman at Tallahassee after being declared eligible in January.
"He's really come on," Barnes said. "He's a 6-9, 230-pound, 4-5 that is athletic, has great hands, a very quick first step, very good feet. He has really increased his range."
Barnes said he would like to see Kuso get a little bit tougher and a little bit more consistent in the next year before making the leap to Division One ball, but he has no doubt Kuso will be a star at the next level.
"He'll be a pro in two years," said the coach.
The Eagles open the season with Abraham Baldwin Area College on November 3rd in Tallahassee.
