With only a few weeks remaining in the season the race for spots in the FCCAA Tournament is heating up. This week we update you on action in the Sunshine state as well as looking at the top 5 sophomore post players in the state.
Okaloosa-Walton, who needed a win against the nation's second ranked team, Chipola, got just that Wednesday night. The Raiders moved themselves to within 2 games of both Chipola and Tallahassee who are now tied atop the Panhandle Conference.

In Suncoast Conference play Hillsborough regained a share of first place by
defeating St. Petersburg on Wednesday evening. The teams are tied for first
place with Hillsborough owning the tiebreaker after defeating the Titans
twice thus far.
In Southern Conference action Indian River defeated Palm Beach to take a 2 game lead over PBCC and Miami Dade. It appears that bearing a major upset Indian River will capture the Southern Conference championship and the league's automatic bid in the FCCAA tournament.
Central Florida Community College continues it's impressive play after a win Wednesday over St. John's River. CFCC holds it's one game lead over Daytona Beach as the two teams have all but clinched the conference's berths in the FCCAA tournament.

A "sponge" on the court. He picks up everything. Has great basketball
instincts and reacts well on the floor. Great size and strength. Does not shoot the ball well from outside. Good defender. Excellent student. Great
kid who works extremely hard. Signed with Gonzaga.
Darryl Monroe
6-foot-7, 230 pounds
Virginia Beach, VA
Needs to make sure he plays hard on every play. Very strong inside. Excellent court vision. One of the best passing big men around. Has tremendous hands. Needs to improve his shooting. One of the most talented big men in the state, but must be more consistent. Average attitude and
work ethic. On track to graduate. Signed with George Mason.
Othello Hunter
6-foot-9, 225 pounds
Winston-Salem, NC
Only played basketball for 4 years. A big upside. Very long and athletic. Developing his offensive skills. Needs to continue to improve them. Great defensive presence, blocks a lot of shots. Outstanding young man. Signed with Ohio State.
Kenneth Williams
6-foot-8, 240 pounds
Miami, FL
Big time size and strength. Needs to improve his passing. Moves well for someone his size. Finishes very strong around the basket. Runs the floor very well. Has developed his skill level but still must improve it. Excellent attitude and work ethic. On track to graduate. Signed with Kansas State.
