Florida Gulf Coast inks two
Florida Gulf Coast University is adding some junior college players to its team for next season. Ben Vega and Derrick O'Neil will both stay in state and attend the Fort Myers, FL school this coming fall.
Vega, (SO) 5-foot-10 from Waukegan, IL has played the past two seasons at Gulf Coast Community College in Panama City, FL. Vega averaged 9.7 ppg and 3.4 assists this past season.

O'Neil, (SO) 6-foot-5, hails from Moreno Valley, CA. Derrick has played the last few seasons at Florida Community College-Jacksonville. O'Neil averaged 12.9 ppg, 8 rebounds and 2.8 steals this past season for FCCJ. O'Neil prepped at Laurinburg Institute.
"Derrick is a great athlete and a big time defender," said JucoJunction staff member Bret Swanson.
