Focus on Ranger College

Ranger College in Ranger,TX has made great strides the past two seasons under head Rodney "Mac" McConnell. The Rangers are currently (17-5) heading into their next contest versus Hill College. JucoJunction had a chance to look at the Rangers today and get a update from coach McConnell on his players' recruitment.
Corin Henry, (SO) 5-foot-11 (175) from Baltimore, MD, played his freshman season at Catonsville (MD) in 2006-2007 and averaged 8.3 ppg and 3.6 assists. Corin is off to a 15 ppg clip this season for the Rangers while dishing out 3 assists and grabbing 6 rebounds a night.

"Corin is an absolute game changer. He's a beast on the floor that plays extremely hard on defense and is fast as a jet with the ball," said McConnell.
Jacksonville State, Central Arkansas, and Idaho have shown early interest in the point guard this spring according to coach McConnell.
Duwan Kornegay, (SO) 6-foot-4 (215) from Los Angeles, plays the wing for the Ranger College Rangers. Kornegay signed with Liberty University out of prep school while attending God's Academy.
"Duwan is a big and strong wing player," said McConnell.
Duwan is currently averaging 10.2 ppg this season. UC-Riverside-offered and visited back in the fall. Sam Houston State, Stephen F. Austin, Central Arkansas and Mercer have shown interest in Kornegay this season.
Andres Palacios, (SO) 6-foot-8 (240) from Colombia, was an academic qualifier coming out of Cornerstone Christian in San Antonio, TX where he played for Walt Webb. Palacios, a power forward, has a nice jumphook.
Central Arkansas, Wichita State and Stephen F. Austin have shown interest in the power forward this season according to McConnell.
Sergio Trocha, (SO) 6-foot-8 (225) from Colombia, played with Palacios at Cornerstone Christian. Sergio transferred in this season from Lee College in Baytown, TX.
"Sergio is a very skilled five man that has a good understanding of the game," said McConnell.
Sergio has been hampered by injuries this season and has played in just 9 games so far averaging 4.6 ppg. Idaho, Gardner-Webb and UC-Riverside have shown interest in Trocha. Sergio will be a late summer graduate according to coach McConnell.
JucoJunction will keep an eye on the Rangers this semester and there progress in conference play.
