Division One coaches have been going through Monroe College in the Bronx, NY this fall and are coming away liking what they see. Monroe College has had its third player to commit before the signing period in November. JucoJunction has the latest on which Mustangs player has made an early pledge.
Kyle Wright now can be added to the mix for the Mustangs in committing to a school this fall. Wright, (SO) 6-foot-6 (215) from Hartford, CT, committed to the Providence College Friars of the Big East Conference today. Kyle, a third year player, played at Stony Brook University back in the 2006-2007 season and averaged 2.8 ppg in 23 games. Wright was at the University of Colorado last season as a redshirt.
"Kyle really liked the level of play and the location of the school. Kyle is always in the gym and wants to win. Coach Davis and Skerry at Providence did a great job of recruiting him," said Monroe College assistant coach Brock Erickson.
Central Florida also showed interest on Wright this fall according to Erickson. JucoJunction will see the Mustangs at Rick Ball's St. Peter's Jamboree in Jersey City, NJ later this month. The Mustangs were (24-7) last season.
