Freeman Takes Big 12 Trip

WARRENSBURG, Mo. -- Martane Freeman wasn't at Penn Valley's first game at the Central Missouri Jamboree on Sunday, but it had nothing to do with the 6-5 wing forward's behavior.
Freeman was wrapping up an official visit to Colorado on Sunday morning. He visited CU from Oct. 10-12.

Freeman has taken early trips to Jacksonville and Colorado, but on Sunday, he told us he wasn't ready to make a decision yet.
"It was great," he said of his trip to Boulder. "I like the system there, plus they want me to replace two of their scorers in Blair Wilson and Michel Morandais."
Creighton and Southern Illinois are also interested in having Freeman visit their campuses, Penn Valley Asst. Coach Rick Madden told JUCO Junction. However, with the season looming on the horizon, it's unclear at this time whether or not Freeman will have the opportunity to take any more trips this fall.
Madden added that Kansas State, Oklahoma, Clemson and Pittsburgh have also shown interest in Freeman should he opt to sign late.
Freeman was one of the top prospects at the CMSU Jamboree. A very smooth wing player, he's a capable shooter and scorer with good athleticism. The only issue that could keep some programs at the high major level from recruiting Freeman is his thin frame.
JUCO Junction will keep an eye on Freeman's situation as the signing period approaches next month. Stay tuned!
